Richie Love, who has been designated the "Saxiest Man Alive", was born in Omaha, Nebraska in 1960. Richie is the youngest son of critically acclaimed saxophonist and legend, Preston Love. Preston has been an international musician for over 50 years and has performed with some of the greatest musicians of all times, including the legendary, Count Basie. He was also the West Coast Director for Mowtown Records, the home of Marvin Gaye, The Supremes, The Temptations and many other legendary groups. Ricihe began playing the saxaphone at age six. At age seven he was taking private lessons and performed in both elementary and high school. At age 14, Richie began playing professionally.
 
In 1977, Richie played with the ARKESTRA doing T.V. shows and toured extensively thoroughout the Midwest. It was at this time that he did his first studio work. He also began playing piano, writing, and arranging his own material.
 
In 1978, Richie moved with his family to Los Angeles and studied music theory with the world-renowned bandleader and musician Johny Otis. Otis has such hits as, Every Beat of my Heart and Handjive. Later in 1981, Richie toured with the Johny Otis Band. He also studied song writing with Lester Abrams, co-writer of the platinum Grammy Award winning tune Minute by Minute by the Doobie Brothers.
 
In 1984, Richie began work on his first album, Wish I Had a Dime, in which he played all of the instruments, did background vocals, wrote, arranged, produced and co-engineered. He also started producing other artists in the California area.
 
In 1986, Richie toured with members of the Ray Charles and Chaka Khan bands and also released his first album. In 1987-1988, Richie's Los Angeles band performed jazz festivals with Hank Crawford and Les McCann.
 
In 1994, Richie, his father Preston, and brother Norman were co-featured on the Loves of Omaha national album release. Currently, Richie is working with his band, Richie Love and The Love Connection as well as establishing his own Record, Publishing, and Production companies, known collectivley as Richie Love Enterprises. Richie has established a digital studio in which he has recorded two CD realeases and two television documentaries. He is currently in production for a new CD to be released in early 2006.

--Appeared as a guest artist on approximately 20 natioanl recordings.
--Performed on the same bill as Jimmy Ray Vaughn at the nationally broadcasted Mississippi Blues Festival, 1998.
--Performed with Norman Connors and Angela Bofill in concert, 1999.
--Performed with Billy Preston.
--Featured performer at the Omaha and Kansas City Jazz and Blues Fesitvals.
--Has been a mentor for children for 15+ years. Is currently working as a mentor for young musicians through the Nebraska Arts Counsil.
